I was commissioned to cover 2 pairs of Springbok horns for by Le Quartier Français's new lounge space. Antelope generally use their horns as a weapon when in competition with another but are shaped to avoid skull injuries in the fight - it becomes more about the power display of the ritual than about harming another in the herd.
The texture of the horns was especially interesting and by sculpting the crochet work to follow the curves, the work becomes a second protective skin.
Bright pink yarn incorporating the brand identity colour of LQF.
Size: Approx. 30cm each
